Scrubby Bear at Sedgefield Elementary
In one year the Queens community performed over 80,353 hours of community service at home and aboard. This would not have been possible without our valuable partnerships.
We believe partnering with Queens is a transformative experience for our Queens community as well as the communities we serve. Queens has many valuable and varied partners, but is also committed to sustainable and systemic change with our strategic partner, Sedgefield Elementary.
Below is a list of our partnerships in the Charlotte community and beyond:
- Food insecurity

Karen Arrington, the family advocate at Sedgefield explains the effect that the Queens Partnership has had on the Sedgefield community:
"Queens and Sedgefield have a wonderful partnership! Queens consistently offers a helping hand and will offer their assistance in any capacity. For example they send volunteers who come Monday through Friday to help our students, whether it is for tutoring, lunch buddy, garden club, or read-a-thon activities. They volunteer not only individually but in large groups as well. Several of the sports teams have been very beneficial in working with our afterschool program as well as assisting our media specialist with big projects in the media center. The great thing about partnering with Queens is that they are always available. Their dependability and consistency is something our students and staff really value here at Sedgefield. Queens also has a creative way of executing projects and engaging our children. They always add a fun twist for our students and make sure they are enthusiastic about learning. We appreciate all of Queens's support and are very excited about our continued partnership with them. Any outside organization would benefit and thoroughly enjoy a partnership with Queens".
