Guests with Special Needs
If you or anyone in your party requires special seating, parking or interpreter services at either a Commencement ceremony or Baccalaureate, please complete the Special Needs Form on the Commencement website by May 1. Graduates who may need accommodations to participate in graduation should contact Karen Franklin, Director of Student Disability Services, at 704-337-2508 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
A drop-off point for guests with mobility impairments will be available in the Evans Clock Tower lot, off of Radcliffe Avenue. Limited reserved parking and seating is also available for guests with special needs, but you must complete the Special Needs Form before May 1.
Please note that we do not provide wheelchairs for guests, but they may be rented at the following locations:
Please see our list of driving directions for information on how to get to campus.
Parking is available in call campus lots. See our campus map and commencement parking map for more information.
If you are visiting from out of town, please visit our list of host hotels. These hotels offer special rates for Queens visitors. You are encouraged to make reservations early, as that weekend is typically a busy one in Charlotte.
Tickets are not required for any Commencement ceremony unless weather does not permit an outdoor ceremony. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be held indoors at the Levine Center for Wellness and Recreation. Seating is not assigned and is on a first-come, first-serve basis for those with tickets. Ample overflow seating with a closed circuit monitor will available on campus for all others who do not have a rain ticket.
Rain tickets will be issued to each graduate at rehearsal. The number of rain tickets given to each student is based on the total number of graduates who will be participating in the ceremony. Since this exact number will not be known until the week of Commencement, we cannot guarantee how many tickets each student will receive.
