Amanda Cruz graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College with her Bachelor's of Science in Nursing degree in 2006. She graduated from Presbyterian School of Nursing at Queens University of Charlotte with her Master's of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Nurse Educator practices in 2012. She was inducted into the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honors Society with her BSN and MSN degrees.
She currently teaches Health Assessment across the Lifespan, The Art & Science of Nursing III, and nursing clinical at the senior level in the critical care setting in the bachelor's and accelerated bachelor's of nursing program.
She maintains current nursing practice by working as a bedside nurse in the critical care setting at Novant Health and Carolinas Healthcare Systems.
She maintains community involvement by volunteering at Camp Thunderbird as a camp nurse, she has served as a board member with JDRF, and has provided free education classes for the Cabarrus County Department of Social Services and the Charlotte Catholic School system.
