Dr. Susan Rucker has almost thirty years of healthcare leadership experience that spans the gamut from hospital administrator, to consulting firm president, to university faculty. She earned her Master of Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh’s renowned Graduate School of Public Health. As a hospital administrator, she specialized in corporate strategy, long-term planning, bond refinancing, corporate wellness programs, medical staff development planning and supply chain management. She furthered her experience as the vice president and then president of a mid-sized consulting firm. In 2000, at the Medical University of South Carolina, she achieved the honor of being the first female in the US to earn a doctorate in health administration. Though she has maintained a few consulting clients, she has spent the last 8 years in higher education. Dr. Rucker was a central figure in the University of Charlotte’s master of health administration obtaining the coveted CAHME accreditation. She is currently adjunct professor at Queens University of Charlotte and Lenoir Rhyne. She loves spending time with her husband David, and their two adult children, Annie, 23, and John, 22.
