Ruth is an assistant professor in the BSN program in the Presbyterian School of Nursing and coordinator for the RN-to-BSN program. In addition to teaching in the nursing program, she has taught CORE 412. She earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at the Medical College of Georgia. Her nursing background includes 'hospital time' on an Indian Reservation in SD, in Medical ICU, with the criminally insane and in Neonatal ICU. Her public health background includes working at Health Departments in a variety of clinic and school settings. She taught at UNCC and was a resereach assistant for School of Public Health at UNC Chapel Hill prior to coming to Queens.
