Dr. Amy W. Thornburg is a faculty member in the Wayland H. Cato, Jr. School of Education at Queens University of Charlotte. She is the Chair of the Education Programs as well as the Coordinator of the Elementary Education Program and Student Teaching. She is also the Accreditation and Assessment Coordinator. She teaches literacy and social studies courses in the undergraduate and graduate programs and supervises student teachers.
Along with other Cato faculty members, she won the National Association of Professional Development School's award for Exemplary Professional Development School Achievement in 2010.
Her research interests include student motivation, professional development, literacy instruction and teacher retention. Please see Dr. Thornburg's Curriculum Vita for her publications.
