Cato School of Education Fellows are provided the opportunity to receive an engaging, top-notch liberal arts education, through our signature internship and student abroad programs, in the middle of the vibrant city of Charlotte. Fellows are also afforded a variety of educational experiences that will transform their lives and prepare them to be highly successful teachers of 21st century students. We firmly believe these undergraduate opportunities not only enrich the overall experience for our Fellows but will supplement the educational experiences of the lives they touch in the classroom.
Queens is committed to preparing future teachers who think critically and embrace diversity, who are leaders within and beyond the classroom, who will be prepared to adjust to the dynamics within our changing world, and who will participate meaningfully in a global society.
Cato School of Education Fellows have the option to obtain North Carolina teacher licensure in one of the following programs offered through the Teacher Education Program in the School of Education: elementary education, special subject areas for grades K-12 (French and Spanish), and in high school subject areas of English, history, math, biology and chemistry.
The Cato School of Education Fellows program will select up to 15 teaching fellows annually. Each student will receive a $5,000 tuition scholarship that can be added to institutional merit scholarships with the total not exceeding the cost of tuition.
