Tropical Island Ecology, Yap State, Federated States of Micronesia

• Invasive Species - Monitoring the spread of Imperata cylindrica, an invasive grass, on the main islands of Yap to evaluate the effectiveness of control programs.
• Fire Ecology - Monitoring the location of low-intensity wildfires on the main islands of Yap to improve fire prediction/control models.

Urban Ecology, Charlotte, NC, USA

• Urban Water Quality - examining issues associated with urban water pollution, including the effectiveness of greenways as buffers. 
• Environmental Monitoring and Management - faculty and students are cooperating with various area organizations, such as the Catawba Lands Conservancy, to work on environmental monitoring, management and education projects.
