Connecting you to the past. Connecting you to your future.
History majors at Queens University of Charlotte explore a multitude of human pasts. If your imagination is hearty and your sense of curiosity is strong, you can debate with the American founders, reign over a great empire with Queen Elizabeth, ride through the American West with Jesse James, fight alongside Napoleon, march with Cortés through Mexico, and witness the turmoil of war in the 20th century. Above all, you can begin to comprehend the many ways in which the present has been inescapably shaped by the past.
We offer our students an intimate and collaborative learning environment in which professors, who are mentors and scholars, encourage independent and innovative thinking and nurture the development of the intellectual skills essential for a successful and rewarding life beyond graduation. Our student conduct independent research, work with community partners through internships and service, learn in international settings, present their work at regional and national conferences, and participate in a variety of competitive educational opportunities on campus, including the Critical Thought Symposium, Honors Program, and the Porter Scholars program.
