One important feature of the Queens MFA Program is the biennial alumni conference.  In keeping with the program's commitment to the continued development of our students beyond graduation, the alumni conference offers graduates of the program an opportunity to return to campus to participate in small workshops and individual conferences with influential agents and editors.  Past alumni conferences have featured editors and agents from The New Yorker, Tin House, The Paris Review, Subtropics, Henry Holt and Company, Riverhead Books, Red Hen Press, International Creative Management, The Steinberg Agency, The Gernert Company, The Anne Edelstein Literary Agency, The McCormick & Williams Literary Agency, The Denise Shannon Literary Agency, and others.

The alumni conference also features seminars with MFA program faculty, readings by alumni, and many occasions to reunite and celebrate with old friends.  In addition to providing continuing opportunities for Queens MFA alumni to interact with respected literary professionals, the alumni conference helps to sustain and deepen our community of writers.

The next Alumni Conference will be held Thursday, May 19 - Sunday, May 22, 2011.
