Degrees & Programs
The Psychology Department offers majors in Psychology and Human and Community Services. Psychology emphasizes the development of an understanding of factors important in determining behavior. Introductory courses present basic psychological principles; upper-level courses provide opportunities for further work in areas of special interest. Independent study allows the student to design and carry out original research. Internships in community settings enable the student to make practical application of psychological principles.
A major in Psychology provides a basis for graduate study in areas of psychology, education, social sciences, social work and law as well as a foundation for careers in personnel, social work, mental health, health care and similar areas.
