Ariana Salazar

Ariana Salazar-Newton grew up in California and has three sisters.  She considers writing more of a hobby, but is passionate about it and the subjects she writes about.  As a third generation Mexican-American woman, she identifies with the plights of the minority and chooses to write on subjects concerning race, gender, sexuality, religion, and class, and currently tends towards a more rhythmic style of poetry.  She is studying religion at Princeton Theological Seminary, but in her spare time she enjoys television, writing poetry, and reading.  Many of her favorite works include works of theology, feminism, race, and queer theory, many Hispanic authors, and she also enjoys contemporary teen fiction as well.  She has no children, but is very close to her siblings and parents.
