Dr. Kristen Johnson is the Mid-Atlantic Executive Director of the RG Performance Group, a management consulting firm focused on bringing organizations into alignment with strategy. Dr. Johnson leads not only the region, but also specific national practices around Innovation; Product Development; and Regulatory Compliance.
Prior to joining the RG Performance Group, she was a Senior Vice President with Wells Fargo, leading strategic initiatives for Business Banking and later, regulatory reform for Technology & Ops. Prior to joining Wachovia/Wells Fargo, she was with Fannie Mae in Washington, DC, where she developed proposals worth $200M in annual savings and built an internal innovation capability. Before Fannie Mae, she had a 13-year career with Accenture Organization Strategy, leading engagements in multiple industries including gaming, manufacturing, financial services, energy, and telecommunications.
She earned her master's and Ph.D. in communication from Northwestern University with a focus on quantitative statistics, premarital romantic communication, and organizational communication.
While she has built her career in the corporate world, Dr. Johnson has maintained a foothold in academia, continuing to teach at universities and community colleges in an adjunct capacity. Outside of her 'day job' and teaching, she is on the Board of Directors for several pet foster groups; loves (and can obsessively quote) 'stupid humor' movies like Tommy Boy; indulges in good red wines; and secretly observes others' conflict as a means to create new study hypotheses. She and her husband live with her seven pets and his three children in a chaotic household in the Elizabeth neighborhood of Charlotte.
