Zachary White , Ph.D.

Dr. White’s research and teaching focus on communication theory and practices that help people manage meaning and communicate their experiences amidst high levels of uncertainty.  As Director of Graduate Programs in the Knight School of Communication, Dr. White teaches a variety of courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels, including Introduction to Communication, Sports Communication, Modern Citizenship, Health Communication, Organizational Communication, Mediated Constructions of Health, the Mediated Self and Changing Relationships, and Health Communication, Social Support and Disclosure.

Dr. White has served as a communication consultant for organizations and practitioners in the health care field.  His research examines end-of-life communication and the challenges encountered by professional caregivers, volunteers, family members, and employees.  Dr. White holds a Ph.D. from Purdue University and is the founder of "The Unprepared Caregiver", a popular blog and resource for caregivers.
