Victoria Budson

Victoria A. Budson
Keynote for Annual TWIST Breakfast and Opening Session

Victoria A. Budson is the founding Executive Director of the Women and Public Policy Program (WAPPP) at Harvard Kennedy School.  She has been an appointee of Governor Patrick to the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women since 2010.  In March 2014, she was appointed to serve on the Successful Women, Successful Families Task Force. Budson is a current advisory board member of Womensphere and Global Thinkers Forum.

In 2014 named Budson one of the Top Ten Visionary Women for Women's History Month. She is often quoted in news publications, television, and radio programs, including CNN International, Fox News Live, The New York Times, The Daily Beast, The Boston Globe, New York Times Magazine, New England Cable News, US News and World Report, Talk of the Nation, Radio Boston and The Connection on National Public Radio among others.

Budson holds a BA from Wellesley College and an MPA from the Harvard Kennedy School.

Debra Plousha Moore serves as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President at Carolinas HealthCare System.  As a visionary leader, she empowers her teammates with focus, intensity of purpose and compassion in the fast-changing world of healthcare. She is responsible for designing and implementing the People Strategy for more than 60,000 teammates. 

In 2014, she received the Leadership Excellence Award from the National Diversity Council.  She was also named the recipient of the Whitney M. Young, Jr. Award by the Urban League of the Central Carolinas.  In 2013, she was awarded the Leadership Charlotte Legacy Award for the Newcomer of the Year.  She was recognized in 2012 with the Maya Angelou Women Who Lead Excellence Award, presented by the United Negro College Fund.

Moore is an active community member and serves on the following boards:  Fifth Third Bank; Duke Mansion; McColl Center for Art + Innovation; North Carolinas Military Business and Education; Bennett College for Women; and the Medical Center Employee Relations Association (MCERA).

President and Chief Creative Officer of Wray Ward, Jennifer Appleby is a passionate and innovative thinker whose creative ideas and strategic vision have grown her company, her customers' brands and her community's offerings.

Appleby joined Wray Ward, an independently owned creative marketing communications firm based in Charlotte, N.C., in 1993 as senior art director. She was promoted to executive creative director in 1995 and senior vice president in 1998. In early 2001, she was named president and chief creative officer and today is the agency owner, making Wray Ward one of the largest woman-owned businesses in the region.

Appleby is the first innovator-in-residence at the McColl Center for Art + Innovation.

Susan DeVore is president and CEO of Premier, Inc., a leading healthcare improvement company, uniting an alliance of approximately 3,400 U.S. hospitals and nearly 110,000 other providers to transform healthcare.

With approximately 30 years of experience, DeVore is an industry-leading thinker who has been named to Modern Healthcare's 100 Most Influential People in Healthcare and Top 25 Women in Healthcare lists. She is the 2014 recipient of the Silver Stevie Award for Executive of the Year in the Health Products and Services category. She serves as chairman of the board trustees of the Healthcare Leadership Council and on the boards of the Coalition to Protect America's Healthcare and the Medicare Rights Center. She also serves as a member of the Institute of Medicine's Roundtable on Value & Science-Driven Healthcare.

DeVore obtained a bachelor's degree from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master of Management degree from McGill University.
