Dr. Ophelia Garmon-Brown

Dr. Garmon-Brown has spent decades caring for others in Charlotte and around the world. Physician, minister, volunteer, and leader are just a few of the titles that represent her contributions to the community. But most of all, Dr. Garmon-Brown is a caregiver and advocate for the health and well-being of others having touched the lives of thousands of patients in Charlotte and around the world as a medical missionary.

Judith Schindler

Rabbi Judith Schindler

Rabbi Schindler was named Charlotte Woman of the Year in 2011. She was named Charlotte Jewish Woman of Strength in 2004, was a recipient of the 2008 Humanitarian Award from the Charlotte Coalition for Social Justice, the 2008 Mecklenburg Ministries Interfaith Clergy Award the 2008 Charlotte Business Guild Don King Community Service "Bridge Builder" Award, and was selected as one of Charlotte's USA 20: Celebrating Dynamic Women in 2010. Rabbi Schindler is currently the only woman in Charlotte leading a congregation of more than a thousand families, and is one of a small group of women rabbis in our country leading synagogues of that same size.

Shannon W. McFayden

A a highly respected consultant and executive coach, Shannon is known for her expertise in leadership effectiveness, communications, talent management and organizational culture. Named as one of the "25 Most Powerful Women in Banking" by US Banker,  Shannon has also been recognized with the United Negro College Fund's "Maya Angelou Women Who Lead" Award, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund's "Award of Excellence", and the Dress for Success "Paradigm Award".
