The McColl School of Business welcomes applicants who are motivated to succeed, demonstrate strong academic and professional backgrounds and uphold the values of the McColl School and Queens University of Charlotte. 

Application Requirements

Please submit the following items as they become available, and be aware that admissions decisions are made only when all requirements have been submitted.

  • Completed online application
  • $75 application fee
  • Essays
  • Resume
  • Official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation
  • GMAT or GRE score*
  • Interview

Additional International Student Requirements:

  • Official TOEFL or IELTS score
  • Evaluated course by course transcript for non-US universities
  • Financial Certification Form
  • Copy of Passport and Visa (if applicable)

Application


All applicants to the McColl School of Business are required to complete the online application including the required essays.

Application Fee


A $75 non-refundable application fee is payable by cash, check or money order only. Checks should be made out to the McColl School of Business. 

Essays

The application includes two required essays. Essay responses should be 500-600 words. There is also an optional essay to include additional information about yourself that was not addressed in the rest of the application. 

Resume


A resume or CV is required. It can be mailed to McColl School Graduate Admissions, 1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274 or emailed to mccollschool@queens.edu

Official Transcript(s)


Applicants must submit transcripts from any/all colleges or universities attended showing a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution. 

Official paper transcripts must be in a sealed envelope and mailed directly from the college or university to McColl School Graduate Admissions, 1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274. If your college/university uses an electronic transcript format, it should be emailed directly from your college/university to mccollschool@queens.edu

Two Recommendations


Applicants are required to provide two letters of recommendation accompanied by completed recommendation forms. Applicants should download the recommendation form found in the Table of Contents of the online application and provide it to his/her recommender. 

Recommendations should be from a current or recent employer, manager, colleague or client who can address your intellectual capacity, leadership style, ability to work with others and business or managerial skills. 

GMAT/GRE


Applicants must submit an acceptable score from either the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE).

*We now offer a GMAT/GRE waiver on a case by case basis for candidates with significant work experience and/or an exemplary undergraduate record. Please contact the Graduate Admissions Office for details on eligibility as it varies by program. CCP applicants are not required to submit a GMAT or GRE score but must have at least 7 years of relevant work experience.

Evaluated Transcript (if applicable)


Applicants who completed their undergraduate degree from an international college/university are required to submit an official course by course evaluation of the transcript. WES (World Education Services) is the preferred resource for evaluations; however, we will consider evaluations from any member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services).

TOEFL/IELTS (international applicants only)


Applicants for whom English is not the first language must satisfactorily complete the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). In lieu of the TOEFL or IELTS, Queens University of Charlotte will also accept successful completion of the ELS Language Center's English language program at level 112. 

  • TOEFL: minimum score of 550 (written test), 213 (electronic test) or 80 (internet-based test)
  • IELTS: minimum composite score of 6.0
  • ELS: completion of level 112

Program Eligibility

All candidates must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

  • EMBA candidates should have a minimum of 8 years of full-time, relevant work experience.
  • MSOD candidates should have a minimum of 4 years of full-time, relevant work experience. 
  • CCP candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of full-time, relevant work experience.
