Leadership Development

Insight is a valuable tool in business.  If you can see beneath the surface of a situation, you'll be better equipped to deal with it.  The same goes for your personal strengths and weaknesses.  The better you know yourself, the easier it will be to maximize your potential. In the Executive Leadership Experience of the EMBA, we create learning situations designed to help you maximize your talents.  Throughout the Executive Leadership Experience in the Executive MBA program, you will be challenged to:

  • Identify areas of growth through feedback from your colleagues, classroom peers, and faculty as well as assessment tools such as the Big 5 personality index.
  • Learn how to refine your management style and the key executive leadership skills organizations value.
  • Grow and define a development plan for yourself and work on the skills you want to hone with faculty, peers, networking mentors, executives in residence and a personal business coach.
  • Apply your new skills: get feedback in an environment that supports your development and gives you an opportunity to try new things.
The McColl School defines the qualities of great leaders as "competence, character and a commitment to community."
