Dr. Roig is an assistant professor of Accounting in the McColl School of Business at Queens University of Charlotte. He holds a BBA in Accounting, MBA, and earned his Ph.D. in Management (concentration in Accounting) after a more than 20 year career as an accounting professional. His professional experience includes public accounting (audit), internal audit, division controller, corporate controller, division general manager and business/financial consulting. He is a CPA (licensed in the State of Ohio) and still maintains a practicing license. He has been teaching full time since 2006, coming to Queens University of Charlotte in Fall 2015 from The University of North Carolina at Asheville.
At the Undergraduate level he has taught Principles of Accounting (Financial), Principles of Accounting (Managerial), Cost Accounting, Accounting Information Systems, Intermediate Accounting, Governmental and Non-Profit Accounting, Advanced Accounting and Accounting Theory. At the Graduate level he has taught both Financial and Managerial accounting.
He has presented his research at annual meetings of the American Accounting Association and published in numerous peer reviewed accounting, finance and business journals. His current research focuses on improving both the education (teaching and learning) and the practice of accounting.
