Undergraduate Certificate in Business Foundations


The certificate is designed for individuals seeking to develop knowledge and skills in the foundation areas of business: accounting, marketing, management, finance, and economics.


Individuals who are interested in obtaining a Certificate in Business Foundations should apply to the Hayworth College Admissions Office as a non-degree undergraduate student.

Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission as a non-degree student in the business certificate program, an applicant must submit:

  1. A completed application form, including the application fee.
  2. Official transcript(s) of all post-secondary academic course work.


This is a 24 credit hour certificate program requiring 15 hours of courses in the business disciplines and 9 hours in related courses. To obtain the certificate, a student must complete the courses with a grade point average of 2.5 with no grade below C-. Up to 6 hours on non-business courses may be accepted as transfer credit. All BUSN courses must be taken at Queens University of Charlotte.

BUSN333 Principles of Management (3 hrs.)
BUSN340 Principles of Marketing (3 hrs.)
BUSN360 Corporate Finance (3 hrs.)
ECON203 Macroeconomics (3 hrs.)
ECON204 Microeconomics (3 hrs.)
MATH106 Introductory Statistics (3 hrs.)
