Laura A. Schulte
Laura A. Schulte manages Wells Fargo's Community Banking activities in its Eastern Region, which includes Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia and Washington, D.C. Her region includes more than 2,700 banking stores and 4,600 ATMs.
Prior to assuming her current position in January 2009 when Wells Fargo's merger with Wachovia became final, she was President of Wells Fargo's Western Region, which includes California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, and Alaska and has more than 1,300 banking stores.
During her more than 20 year career with Wells Fargo, she has held a variety of Community Banking leadership positions for California, Nevada, Utah, Southwestern Wyoming, and Border Banking, as well as various management positions in Finance, Credit Review and Internal Audit in Nebraska. Laura also serves as an Executive Sponsor for the Women's Team Member Network at Wells Fargo.
A native of Omaha, Nebraska, Schulte earned a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln, and graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking.
Schulte is involved in various community and charitable organizations. She serves on the Boards of the Foundation for the Carolinas, Charlotte Center City Partners, the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art, the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Executive Advisory Board for Envision Charlotte and the Strategic Advisory Board for the Charlotte Freedom School Partners. Outside of Charlotte, Schulte serves on the Boards of the American Bankers Association, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln School of Business and the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at University of Pennsylvania/Wharton School of Business. She is member of the Young Presidents Organization.
