Publisher Ann Caulkins named Queens 2011 BusinessWoman of the Year Queens University of Charlotte is pleased to present the 2011 Charlotte BusinessWoman of the Year award to Ann Caulkins, publisher of The Charlotte Observer. She becomes the 27th woman to be honored with the Charlotte BusinessWoman of the Year award for significant, sustained contributions to business and the community. The award celebrates the achievements of exceptional women professionals who exhibit leadership as defined by the values of The McColl School of Business at Queens - competence, character and commitment to the community. Previous winners include Carol Hevey, Cathy Bessant, Jennifer Appleby, Patricia Rodgers, Ruth Shaw and Joan Zimmerman. "Ann Caulkins has proven herself to be a resilient leader who is dedicated to public service," said Pamela Davies, president of Queens. "She is engaged in our community and has demonstrated how business and community goals are interrelated." Registration Information
