‘A culture of integrity’
The Honor Code at Queens creates a culture of integrity that is reflected in everything students do.
Queens' Honor Code is designed to create a culture of integrity that is reflected in everything students, faculty and staff do.
"We hope to create an environment in which people want to be ethical and have thoughtfulness about how their actions affect other people," said Dr. Lynn Morton, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. "It's about learning to be intentional about who you are in the world."
Every first-year student signs the Honor Code during a special ceremony called "Sed Ministrare" that takes place during Orientation. This makes clear the expectation that students will be truthful at all times, behaving honorably and responsibly in all areas of life both on and off campus to create a community that values mutual trust and respect.
