Austria
Part of the Central & Alpine Europe Faculty-Led Program that also includes the Czech Republic, Germany and Hungary, this mountainous, German-speaking country is filled with historical treasures, including castles and palaces amid Alpine slopes.
Austria used to be the center of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but left World War I as a small republic, then underwent annexation by Nazi Germany in World War II. Today, it's a flourishing democracy that celebrates its history.
In Austria, students visit both Vienna and Salzburg and take in such historic spots as the Sigmund Freud House and Mozart's birthplace.
