These additional online resources can help you get ready for your time in France. The comprehensive collection of sites guides you in learning more and testing your knowledge.

Be sure to check both the Country Profiles page and the Sites & Destinations page for links to websites where you can find lots of good information on most any country in the world--including France!

A great place to start exploring the country is the Franceway--Voilà la France site that has information on a variety of topics: food and drink, the arts, politics, geography and more.  Their short history of France is a good place to begin to get your head around the long history of the country.  An up-to-date and beyond-the-ordinary look at French culture can be found at the France Today online magazine's site: do some exploring and you can find great cultural insights into the French point of view, discussions of politics, the arts and what is happening in Paris and all over the country.  For a light-hearted romp through French culture, check out the Web Vlog series "Lost in Francelation."

The "official" Paris/Ile de France site has tons of information on what to do while in Paris -themed walks, the obvious and not-so-obvious sites to see, concerts and more.  Check out what to do in your spare time at Le Nouveau Paris! Another great site for the city is from the Paris Convention and Visitors Bureau with information on getting around, shopping, restaurants, museums; be sure to check out the useful "Practical Paris" section to find out about money, daily life, calling home and more.  Paris Digest is a great general source of information on sightseeing, museums, monuments, transportation, and more; and the Paris Pages are another great site with tons of information.  France Travel also has plenty of great info - history, eating, maps and more - for both Paris and France in general.

You can keep up with the latest news in France from a number of sources geared to English speakers.  Check out the online paper/magazines from Le Connexion, The French Paper or French News Online.  For news in French, check out Le Monde or Le Parisien.
