| Matthias Church A neo-Gothic church in Budapest’s castle district, its official name is Church of Our Lady, but it’s commonly called Matthias Church after King Matthias, who got married there twice. |

| Szechenyl Baths Good example of an old public-baths tradition, located in City Park. |

| Great Market Hall Large indoor market in Budapest filled with produce, cheeses, meats and other goods. |

| Heroes Square Built to celebrate the forming of the new nation in 896, it is home to monuments honoring historical and allegorical figures. |

| House of Terror This chilling museum – the site of actual torture and killing—reminds us of the country’s difficult past and serves as a memorial to victims of both the fascist and communist regimes. |

| St. Istvan’s Basilica This Roman Catholic basilica and Hungary’s largest church is named after Hungary’s first king, whose mummified hand is exhibited here. |

| Eger A city in northern Hungary known for its castle, wines and thermal baths. It was also the site of a 16th century battle in which a hugely outmanned force that included women and children defended the city against the invading Turks. |
