This southernmost African country offers as much variety as the African sky is wide. A fantastic range of terrain and fascinating history make studies in South Africa an unforgettably rich experience.

Its interior plateau, the mountainous Great Escarpment and narrow coastal plain are home to diverse cultures, as well as an amazingly varied world of plants and animals.

South Africa held onto racial segregation - known here as apartheid - much longer than most countries before blossoming into the Rainbow Nation it is known as today. Those contentious years and its journey into integration make it a living history lesson.

Programs

Faculty-Led Program - A two-week faculty-led program explores South Africa's environment and cultural history and includes time spent in both natural areas and historical, cultural centers.  Open to traditional undergraduate students in good standing at the end of their junior year.
