Parent Tip:

Make sure you book your hotels for move-in weekend early to ensure you get the special Royals Rate!

All new students will arrive and check-in prior to the start of the upcoming semester. Check-in day will mark your first day of college and the first of many firsts to come! Once you have checked in, all students, parents, and guests will join us for the New Student Welcome and Sed Ministrare Ceremony. 

Fall New Student Arrival Day: Friday, August 26, 2016

Things To Do Before You Arrive:

1.Review the sample 2016 Welcome Week Schedule

2. Pack your belongings.

  • Don't forget to label all personal belongings (bags, boxes, luggage, loose items, etc.) with your Last Name, Residence Hall Name & Room Number.
  • Check the Residence Life Resources page for What you Should Pack

3. Residential Student Move-In:

  • New Residential students will move-in on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 8 a.m. - 12 p.m.
  • Below are the times and locations for your arrival on move-in day. Please review these as we ask students to flow through a very specific pattern during move-in to ensure that we can avoid lines and back up on streets. 
    • Albright Hall - Arrive at clocktower circle
      • 3rd floor arrive from 8am-9am
      • 2nd floor arrive from 9am - 10am
      • 1st floor arrive from 10am-11am
      • Check in at Albright Hall Lobby to get your key and other information.
    • Barnhardt Hall - Arrive in front  of Barnhardt on Wellesley Ave.
      • All Barnhart Residents should plan to arrive from 8am - 10am
      • Check in in Barnhardt Lobby to get your key and other information.
    • Belk Hall - Arrive at the clocktower circle
      • 2nd floor arrive from 8am - 9:30am
      • 1st floor arrive from 9:30am - 11am
      • Check in at Belk Hall Lobby to get your key and other information
    • Byrum Hall - Arrive at Byrum Parking Deck
      • Arrive from 9am - 11am
      • Check in at Stultz Hall (Campus Police) to get your ID card and have it activated for your building and room.
    • Hayes Hall - Arrive at the Burwell Circle (1900 Selwyn Ave)
      • 2nd floor arrive from 8am - 9:30am
      • 1st floor arrive from 9:30am - 11am
      • Check in at Hayes Hall Lobby to get your key and other information.
    • Hall Brown Overcash (HBO) Hall and Wireman Hall - Arrive at the Clocktower circle
      • Arrive between 10am - 11:30am
      • Check in at Stultz Hall (Campus Police) to get your key and other information.

4. Commuter Student Check-In

  • Make sure you have completed you've complete the information survey HERE, this allows us to properly identify you as a commuter.
  • Commuter students will need to check-in on Friday, August 26, 2016 from 11am -1:30pm at Trexler Lobby.
  • Commmunting students can park at Harris Welcome Center or in the Fine Arts Lot.

5. Bring your Medical Forms

  • The Student Medical Form was due on August 1, but if you haven't submitted your forms yet, be sure to bring them with you to turn in at check-in.
  • If you have questions about the Student Medical Forms, contact Health and Wellness Services at 704-337-2220.

6. Complete your vehicle registration form. You will also need to have your vehicle registration card to get your parking decal.

  • Pre-register for parking before 5:00pm on Monday, August 22nd to have your parking decal available at check-in. 
  • Those that register after Monday, August 22nd can pick up their parking decal from campus police after Friday, August 26th.
  • For move in weekend, residential students should park in Byrum Deck and commuting students should park in Harris Welcome Center lot or Fine Arts Lot.

7. Make all final Payment Arrangements.

  • Students may be dropped from their classes if payment plans have not been made by August 15.

8. Encourage your parents to Register for Family Weekend.
