Parents Orientation for Incoming New Students
Parents of incoming freshmen may participate in the two-day, overnight Summer Orientation session with their students on either June 16-17 (Session 1--CLOSED) or June 23-24 (Session 2). Parents of incoming transfer students may participate in a one-day Orientation Session on July 28, 2014 (Session 3). If unable to attend in the summer, students can participate in a mini Orientation on Sunday, August 24 after move in. The parent orientation sessions will feature important information for parents about student financial services, student safety, health and wellness, and much more.
Parent Orientation Sessions 1 and 2
Parents Orientation Session 3 and Session 4. (Parents will participate along with their student and do not have a separate program.)
Parents must register to attend an orientation session. Registration for the Orientation process is comprehensive; therefore students and parents will be registered together under one registration. To register for the parent orientation sessions, please ensure that your student has listed you on their New Student Orientation registration. There is no additional cost to attend the parent orientation program.
During the June Orientation programs and fall move in, on campus housing will be provided for students. Students will be paired with other incoming students to get the true experience of sharing space and getting to know their new peers. Parents are encouraged to stay at one of our participating hotel sponsors here in Charlotte. These hotels have set up special pricing for Queens' guests. All hotels listed are within 5 miles of campus.
Fall Arrival for Incoming New Students
All new students will move-in on Friday, August 22. Parents are encouraged to attend the New Student Welcome and Sed Ministrare ceremonies on Friday, August 22 after the move-in. Be sure to make reservations at one of our Host Hotels for fall accommodations.
