Letter to Alumni
Director of Alumni Relations, Emily Pinkerton
Hello Queens Alumni, I want to express to you how excited I am to have recently joined the Office of University Advancement as Director of Alumni Relations. The main reason for this excitement is because I now have the wonderful opportunity to interact with our fantastic alumni, both near and far! While not a Queens alumna myself, I have been a member of the Queens family for over three years in another role and do have a strong sense of Royals pride.
Queens is a special place but without the individuals who sit in the classrooms and give the campus life, it would simply be a handful of buildings. You, my alumni friends, are Queens. Whether you walked across the graduation stage just a couple of years ago or if that memory is now very distant, you are what made and what continues to make this a special place. On your journey of life, Queens is a part of your story.
I invite you to reimagine the ways that you can stay connected and involved. Queens needs all of our alumni actively engaged in order to continue to be a thriving institution. There are a number of volunteer opportunities available for our alumni. No matter where you live or how much time you have to give, there are ways that you can serve. I look forward to sharing such opportunities with you throughout the year.
I also want to stress the importance of alumni gifts, no matter the size. When you give to your alma mater, you are not only enhancing the quality of education our students receive and providing opportunities for those who might not otherwise have the means to achieve a college education, you are also increasing the value of your own degree. Your gifts to Queens make a huge difference in the level of support we can provide to our students and our athletic and academic programs. Every gift in any amount is a testament to the generosity of our enthusiastic alumni and your loyal connection to Queens.
My office door is always open so please feel free to drop by, call or email at any time. I am located in Burwell Hall, room 109. You can reach me by phone at 704-337-2536 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Whether it is to share your Queens story, identify ways that you would like to volunteer or to provide ideas on how our office could better be serving you, I would love to hear from you.
I look forward to connecting with you soon!
