Queens Music Academy creates an exciting musical atmosphere in which students of all ages, young children to adults, and beginners to advanced, find encouragement to discover and develop their abilities. Believing that a sound musical background can be rewarding at any level of instruction, the Music Academy provides courses of instruction suited to a variety of needs.
Our program offers unique opportunities for students to perform regularly in recitals and competitions and to attend concerts offered by the Music Department.
Private weekly, individual music lessons are offered to children and adults. Suzuki instruction is offered for the younger beginner. In addition to music lessons, music therapy sessions are offered to children and young adults with special needs. A variety of musical experiences are used to improve cognitive, physical, social and emotional development.
Fun with Chamber Music
The Queens Music Academy has designed a program for instrumentalists who love playing chamber music or are interested in learning to love playing chamber music! "Fun with Chamber Music" will be available to instrumentalists of any age who are at least at an "intermediate" level of playing and are committed to participating in every coaching experience, every scheduled rehearsal and the final concert performance each semester. (Ensembles work best when all participants are present!)The chamber music events are mapped out to be five two-hour sessions on Saturday morning from 10am to 12pm, approximately every other week during each semester, and a concert performance opportunity to celebrate the accomplishments of the ensembles.
Admission to the "Fun with Chamber Music" program is by contacting Dr. Paul A. Nitsch at 704 337-2204 or Paul Nitsch. Enrollment is limited. All events will take place in the E.H. Little Fine Arts Center on the Queens University of Charlotte campus unless otherwise publicized.
