Individual Music Therapy Sessions
Music therapy sessions are offered to children and young adults with special needs. A variety of musical experiences are used to improve cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. The goals of the sessions are individualized and are based on the needs, preferences and abilities of each client. Typically, sessions can be designed to improve receptive and expressive language, fine and gross motor skills, attending behavior, basic academic concepts, creativity and musicality. Music Therapy sessions are conducted by a student music therapist under the supervision of a Board Certified Music Therapist.

ATTENDANCE, PRACTICE REQUIREMENTS AND PROGRESS REPORTS
- At the beginning of each term therapist will contact each student to schedule lessons/sessions. Sessions missed by students will NOT be made up. All sessions missed by the therapist will be made up.
- Students are expected to notify their therapist in advance if they must miss lessons or sessions, by calling the therapist.
- Students will be dropped for poor attendance, inconsistent practice and preparation. At the end of each term, the staff sends a progress report to parents giving an evaluation of the student's aptitude, ability, attitude and progress. The Term II report will indicate whether the teacher considers it advisable for the student to continue lessons.
If a student withdraws before the completion of the term, there will be NO refund of fees. Students who do not intend to continue lessons during Term II should indicate this in writing no later than December 3, 2012 in order to avoid being billed for Term II.
