Within Greek Life there are many opportunities for a student to gain additional leadership skills! They can take on a role within their chapter or get involved in one of the many councils or honor societies.
The Inter-Greek Council (IGC) is composed of the chapter presidents of each fraternity and sorority on campus as well as the presidents from Panhellenic Council, Inter Fraternal Council, and Order of Omega. The function of IGC is to promote unity and cooperation through discussion and planning, while encouraging representation of each chapter at campus events and activities.
Order of Omega is a national honor society for Greek Life. This group of students represents those with a GPA higher than the all-Greek average and those that show commitment to community service. Order of Omega is responsible for coordinating Greek-wide functions including Greek Week and Greek Life Community Service projects.
The Panhellenic Council is the governing body for the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) sororities on campus. The NPC sororities include Alpha Delta Pi, Chi Omega, Kappa Delta, and Phi Mu. The Queens Panhellenic Council is made up of 3 women from each chapter. One holds an executive role on Panhellenic Council as either the President, Vice President/Director of Formal Recruitment, Secretary, or Treasurer. Additionally each chapter has a delegate and a junior delegate. This council is responsible for coordinating Formal Recruitment, which is the process of a mutual selection between a new student and an NPC sorority. They are also responsible for planning NPC social events, philanthropy events, and addressing concerns among the NPC community.
The Inter Fraternal Council is the governing body for the male fraternities (Pi Kappa Phi and Phi Kappa Sigma). This council organizes the men's Fraternity Rush process, as well as fraternity socials and philanthropy events.
