Phi Mu Fraternity for Women was founded as the Philomathean Society at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia in 1852. Orignally the Sigma Delta local sorority, the Gamma Gamma Chapter of Phi Mu was founded at Queens in September of 1929.
