The Department of Residence Life, a unit of Student Life provides and enhances a safe, convenient, and transformative residential experience. We accomplish this through intentionally developed policies, programs, facilities, and services that foster holistic student development.
By focusing on interpersonal, intrapersonal, and intellectual development, the Department of Residence life collaborates with the entire campus community to create and sustain vibrant learning communities for students.

Eddie Young - Director of Residence Life
Eddie is responsible for the overall direction of Residence Life and Housing at Queens. With over seven years of Student Affairs and Residence Life experience, Eddie began working at Queens in June 2012. Eddie, his wife Adrienne, and their two sons are excited to be a part of the Queens Family.
Crystal Pugh -Assistant Director of Residence Life for Assignments
Crystal is responsible for overseeing housing assignments and successful matriculation here at Queens. Crystal came to us in August 2013 with five years of professional experience in Housing and Residence Life and Student Affairs at both private and public institutions. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Elizabeth City State University and her Masters of Education in Psychological Studies from Cambridge College. Crystal has a passion for equipping students to be globally competent through leadership development, academic planning, and student involvement. When she is not at work, Crystal enjoys spending time with her family, working on craft projects and watching movies. She has direct oversight of Belk and Wireman Residence Hall.
Sarah Mitchell - Assistant Director for Selection and Training
Sarah joined the Queens community in July 2013. She coordinates the staff selection process as well as on-going training and development for student staff. She has direct oversight of Barnhardt Hall and South Hall.
Sandra Valdes-Lopez - Assistant Director for Residence Education
Sandra joined Queens in January 2011, and lives in North Hall with her dog Tally. She is directly responsible for North, Albright, and Hayes Halls.
Johnny Hohenstein - Graduate Assistant
Johnny joined the Queens Community in December of 2012, and is pursuing a Master's Degree in Higher Education through Northeastern University at Charlotte. He is responsible for the oversight of HBO Residence Hall, where he lives with his dog Pepper.
