Mike is the National Managing Partner of Industry and Market Development with Grant Thornton LLP and responsible for Sales & Marketing, Business Development and Brand Development. Grant Thornton LLP is the U.S. member firm of Grant Thornton International Ltd, one of the six global audit, tax and advisory organizations serving public and private companies in over 100 countries. Over the last 29 years, McGuire has served the needs of rapidly growing businesses throughout the Carolinas. His diversified experience includes working closely with high-growth, start-up and middle-market companies in a variety of industries, including technology, services, construction, manufacturing, venture capital, distribution, retail and franchising. He previously served as the Managing Partner of the four offices that comprise Grant Thornton's Carolinas Practice (Charlotte, Raleigh and Greensboro, North Carolina and Columbia, South Carolina). With significant experience in capital markets transactions ranging from angel investing to Initial Public Offerings, McGuire is a frequent speaker on topics such as Entrepreneurship and Leadership. He has advised numerous companies in a variety of industries in merger and acquisition strategies, due diligence and deal structure. With an equally notable community profile, McGuire has led numerous initiatives in Charlotte and is on the Board of Directors for the following organizations: Charlotte Chamber of Commerce; Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority (CRVA); North Carolina Chamber of Commerce; Charlotte City Club; Advantage Carolina; Bechtler Museum of Modern Art; Bowling Green State University Foundation; 2009 and 2010 CEO Playground Build (Build Chairman); and the Grant Thornton Foundation. Mike is a graduate of Bowling Green State university with a B.S. in Accounting and Management Information Systems and is a North Carolina CPA.
