The Charlotte Concert Band presents "Heroes," featuring works that celebrate people, real and fictional, who have triumphed over adversity. The concert includes "Festive Overture" by Dmitri Shostakovich, "Symphony No. 1, Lord of the Rings" by Johan de Meij and a special performance of "A Lincoln Portrait" by Aaron Copland to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the beginning of the Civil War. The Charlotte Concert Band is an adult volunteer band of professional and dedicated amateur musicians sponsored by Queens.
