Many individuals are honored as part of Queens' 2014 commencement ceremonies

On May 1-3, Queens held its 155th commencement ceremonies, graduating more than 550 students and honoring many special individuals along the way.

Honorary Doctorates

Algernon Sydney Sullivan Awards

Established by the New York Southern Society in 1925, these awards recognize and honor excellence of character and humanitarian service.  Since 1948, Queens has been presenting two awards, one to a member of the graduating class and one to a person who is affiliated with the University in some other capacity. 

Hunter Hamilton Love of Teaching Award

This award is given to a Queens faculty member who displays an exemplary love of teaching and whose way of life inspires the full potential of each student.
