Dean King participates in Knight Community Information Challenge
The Knight Community Information Challenge is a five-year, $24 million initiative to help community and place-based foundations to play leading roles in meeting the information needs of their communities. Van King, Dean of the James L. Knight School of Communication, was among experts and industry leaders assembled from across the nation to judge submissions. The judging process included pre-judging applicants before meeting in Miami to discuss and give recommendations to Knight Foundation as part of the Media Innovation Initiative. This multi-faceted effort that includes projects to reform national media policy, increase broadband access nationally and transform journalism education, among addressing other issues.
