National Honor Society at Queens University of Charlotte proudly inducted seven new members on September 21, 2010. The honorees were celebrated during a reception and induction ceremony in the Claudia Belk Dining Room on the Queens campus. The event was attended by the honorees and their invited guests, including family members. Dean Van King, Dr. Leanne Pupchek, Dr. Daina Nathaniel, and Dr. John McArthur represented the university and the Knight School of Communication. Chapter officers Sara Beth Jones and Vanessa Blackhurst presided over the induction.

During the induction ceremony, Dr. McArthur, the chapter's advisor, explained that the Psi Eta chapter was chartered in October 2008, and members who are inducted twice a year join a prestigious honor society with over 344 active chapters worldwide. This is also the inaugural induction for the newly named James L. Knight School of Communication and the fifth induction class since the organization was chartered. The inductees, including communication majors from both the undergraduate day and Hayworth programs, were presented with a membership shingle, lapel pin, and honor cords, which can be worn during commencement ceremonies. The six honorees were:

  • Whitney Everhart
  • Harvey Gossett
  • Jade Kulick
  • Jorge Lozano
  • Dana McGrath
  • Brittany Philip
  • Anneka Van Scoyoc
