Event Details
Come and join an evening in conversation about religious response to poverty. Sponsored by the Chapel and the Center for Ethics and Religion, "Poverty: A Faithful Response" will combine a viewing of a documentary called "The Line," and a panel discussion about what people of faith can do about poverty.
Panelists: Jessica Schorr Saxe (Judaism), John Cleghorn (Christianity), Osama Wazan (Islam)
Moderator: Suzanne Watts Henderson (Director, Center for Ethics and Religion)
Did you know . . .
- That over 11 million American children live in poverty today?
- That many whose families live below the 'poverty line' work more than one job?
- That Judaism, Christianity, and Islam all share a commitment to the poor?
- That the political conversations about our country's future rarely mention the poor?
