Rick Rothacker will discuss his new book "Banktown: The Rise and Struggles of Charlotte's Big Banks." The book chronicles the rise and near collapse of Bank of America, as well as the boom and bust of Wachovia Corp. It also includes some interesting early history about the two banks and a detailed discussion of the financial crisis and the government bailout. Rothacker has been a reporter at The Charlotte Observer since 1998 and received the Gerald Loeb Award for beat writing in 2009 for his coverage of Wachovia.
