Commencement FAQs

Am I graduating?
Did you receive an audit from Brandeis Green, the Associate Registrar?
Audits are triggered by Applications for Graduation
If you did not receive an audit, please contact the Registrar's Office immediately.
You will be notified by your Queens email if you are not eligible to graduate due to spring grades.

Permission to Walk Early
Commencement is a ceremony. Just because you walk across the stage, does not mean you have graduated from Queens. The Registrar's Office determines whether or not you have earned your degree.

What happens if I receive an Incomplete for a course?
You will be able to walk in the ceremony, but with the understanding that you do not receive your diploma until all work has been complete and your instructor changes your grade. You have 30 days to complete the course work to receive a May graduation date.

What if I fail a course and have to repeat it, can I still walk?
Yes, with permission of the Registrar.

To earn the designation of Honors, you must have earned a minimum of 60 hours at Queens.
Cum Laude: 3.5 -3.6499
Magna Cum Laude: 3.650 - 6.849
Summa Cum Laude: 3.850 -4.0
Graduate students do not receive honors.

Only your degree is listed on your diploma, NOT your major.
August and December graduates will receive their diplomas by mail.
There is only one commencement in May.  All graduates are welcomed and encouraged to participate in the May ceremony.
