Queens is bursting with events, activities, and seminars that fill the calendar. Listed are the traditions that students look forward to each year. Visit our Student Life calendar on for a full listing of what all is happening on campus. All currently enrolled students also receive a weekly e-newsletter, known as Q-News: Students, that highlights all current campus events and news.

Boar's Head Banquet and Yule Log Ceremony
A medieval tradition consisting of medieval songs, festivities, and food in celebration of the Christmas season. The Queens community gathers to feast and to be entertained by the Queens University Dance Ensemble, Chamber Singers, and appearances from staff and faculty donned in medieval attire. All carol as the Yule Log is carried to the bonfire in sheer festivity!

Casino Night
Arguably the most popular event of the year! A formal attire event with music, dancing and casino tables galore! Not a tradition to be missed!

Exam Break Breakfast
Enjoy late night bacon, eggs, grits, pastries, and pancakes cooked and served by your favorite professors and staff members the night before exams begin. Come out for games, prizes, and possibly a guest appearance or two!

Family Weekend
Parents and families are invited to enjoy the Queens campus, meet faculty, staff and friends, enjoy sporting events, and take in special on-campus programs.

Homecoming Week
Students and alumni gather to enjoy a week of fun and celebration brought to you by Student Government and Campus Union Board. Come cheer the Royals men's and women's basketball teams and take in an after-game party with a DJ or local band.

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
Sponsored by Multicultural Affairs and Student Activities, the MLK celebration is much more than a day of recognition. It is a day of education, celebration and service.

Midnight on Ice
It's a late night private party on ice! The clock strikes twelve and Queens students head out for an evening of all night skating that leads into Reading Day.

Moravian Love Feast and Tree Lighting Ceremony
Celebrate the beginning of the holiday season with a Moravian Fellowship service. Join the Queens community in Belk Chapel to share in traditional Moravian fare, a candle lighting ceremony, and carols.

Spring Carnival
The Residential Quad bursts with excitement... play carnival games, participate in wacky Olympic style activities, and listen to bands outside as Queens kicks off the incredible weather of the spring semester!
