Journalism and digital media majors prepare for careers in storytelling across media platforms. At the Knight School, we know that journalism and media production are rapidly changing and merging fields. That’s why students in this program take courses in the foundations of journalism, experience traditional and new media, and invest their practice through engagement in the context of local and global communities.

The Queens Knight School of Communication is a national leader in the study of digital and media literacy; our faculty spearheaded the local digital literacy educational organization, Digital Charlotte. We've also established the first curriculum partnership ever with Google Fiber. You will have the opportunity to study and practice digital literacies across media platforms. You will also find that employers are hiring people who can help navigate and manage the complexities of internet-based, social and participatory media.
