Have you ever dreamed of going to far-off places? Then come to Queens and we will take you there — as part of our academic program. Close to 90% of our students take advantage of this incredible opportunity to travel and study abroad at the end of their junior year, with most costs included in our comprehensive tuition. The national average? About 9%.
At Queens, we believe that a college education is incomplete without a global perspective, something best gained by direct experience. Our study abroad tours are meaningful encounters with other cultures. You must pass a semester-long preparatory course combining history, geography, politics and culture in order to participate. Wherever possible, you have home stays and meet with local students and families. Plus, you earn academic credit for both the preparatory course and trip.
We go to most of the usual places as well as some out-of-the-way spots. Our latest destination? Yap, an island state which is part of Micronesia in the Pacific, near the Philippine Islands. What in the world will you do in Yap? Environmental studies (and scuba diving). Our students explore the world not only to discover the world, but also to become more responsible citizens in our increasingly global society.
