Frequently Asked Questions

What are the application deadlines?
Applications are due by July 1 for Fall enrollment and by Novmeber 1 for Spring enrollment.  International student applications are not accepted for the summer term.

Can I find out if I am eligible to be admitted to Queens before I submit an application? Will you review my grades and tell me if I can be admitted before I submit an application?
Unfortunately we are not able to review your information until we have received a complete application.  We base our admissions decision on more than grades alone so we like to review a complete file before making any admissions decisions.

Can I apply to Queens even if I don't have a TOEFL score?
You can apply for admission to Queens at any time prior to the stated deadlines.  However, before we are able to make an admission decision we will need official TOEFL and/or SAT or ACT scores.

Do I need to submit all the application materials together at the same time? What do I need to submit in addition to the application?
No, all application materials do not need to be submitted at the same time. We will collect them as they are submitted but we cannot make a decision until our office has received all documents. In addition to the application, international students must submit the item listed above.

Can I submit photocopies of my transcripts?
No. You must submit original copies of transcripts. If they are not in English, the original transcripts must be accompanied by a certified translation.

I have been living and studying in the U.S. for several years. Am I still considered an international applicant?
Yes. You are considered an international applicant unless you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident (hold a green card).

How do I obtain a student visa?
Once an international student is admitted to Queens and submits the $1000 deposit they must submit a certified bank statement or Affidavit of Support to prove funding for their education. Students must also submit a copy of their passport. This information will allow Queens to issue the I-20 which students can then submit to the US Embassy for the student visa.
