Internships and Career Fair held on
September 24th in the Ovens Gym

September 24th, 2009- The College of Arts and Science's Internships & Career Programs office (career center) presented the second annual career fair with immense success.
Approximately 250 students from all over campus and across colleges attended this event. Students were connected to three categories of opportunity: internships, graduate schools and professional positions. A mixture of 36 organizations were present and seeking applicants including, Aerotek (scientific recruiters), Ford Motor Company, Lash Group, and many more. Numerous Graduate schools were also present such as The Duke Fuqua School of Business and Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. Juniors, sophomores, and freshman were targeted by the organizations seeking interns such as the Bobcats Sports Entertainment, Communities In Schools, Discovery Place, and the Charlotte YMCA. World Endeavors was present seeking interns for international placements. Organizations ranged from non-profit, corporate and governmental providing students a wide variety of opportunities. Students from all majors found the fair to provide a mix of possible positions/programs while still wanting more.
The Internships & Career Program office provides two additional recruitment events in the Spring, a networking reception for seniors in Burwell and the Metro Carolina Career Fair in February.
