In 1990, Annual Fund Chair Kathie Taylor Grigg '87 was searching for a name to bestow upon those individuals who had donated over $1,000 to The Queens Fund. She hit upon a winning idea with the Royal Society. In order to honor donors who support Queens at this level, a recognition event is hosted annually by Dr. Pamela Davies, president of Queens University of Charlotte.
Today the Royal Society of The Queens Fund recognizes over 250 individuals, small businesses, corporations and foundations who contribute between $1,000 - $24,999 annually to The Queens Fund and McColl School Alumni Excellence Fund.
Members of the Royal Society of The Queens Fund can contribute at many different levels over the $1,000 mark.

The event, An Evening on the Green, was held at the Myers Park Country Club.
