Alumni Association awards are made annually at Reunion Weekend. Awards need not be conferred every year, and there is no restriction on the number of recipients to which awards can be presented in any one year. Alumni currently serving on the Alumni Board of Directors shall be ineligible.
If you would like to nominate someone for an award, please read the following descriptions, complete the form below and mail to Office of Alumni Programs, Queens University of Charlotte, 1900 Selwyn Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28274, or email your nomination to alumni@queens.edu.
Outstanding Alumna/us Award
The Outstanding Alumna/us Award is given to an alumna/us who has made significant achievements and gained prominence in his or her personal and professional life. Service to the Alumni Association and/or Queens is not criteria for this award.
Alumni Service Award
The Alumni Service Award is presented to an alumna/us who best embodies Queens’ motto: “Not to be served, but to serve.” Recipients will be chosen on the basis of above average service and contributions to the work of the Alumni Association and Queens.
Honorary Alumna/us Award
The citation of Honorary Alumna/us is awarded to a recipient outside the Alumni Association in recognition of devoted service and in appreciation of his or her unique relationship with the Queens community.
Sed Ministrare Award
The Sed Ministrare Award was initiated in 2007, Queens' Sesquicentennial year, to honor an alumna/us who has provided outstanding service to his or her community. Past winners include Mariam Cannon Hayes '37 in 2007 and Myrta Pulliam '69 in 2009.
